LE MACCHIOLE
Le Macchiole is in Bolgheri, Tuscany, on the beautiful Etruscan Coast in Italy.
In this magical place, where rolling hills are blanketed by forest, where vineyards and olive trees meet with the Tyrrhenian Sea, Le Macchiole has taken shape over time. The prides itself of the belief that although the wine is made in the vineyards, it is also thanks to the meticulous management of the winemaking process which is essential to achieve high-quality and rich Italian wine.
Dating back to the beginning of the 1980s, Le Macchiole is one of the historic wineries in Bolgheri, and over the years, it has become a reference point for quality Tuscan wine. Founders Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli were among the region’s pioneers, and they contributed in a significant way to Bolgheri’s growing fame thanks to their work in creating wines full of character and personality that have become a symbol of the region.
Experimentation is ceaseless: separate vinification of each vineyard plot by using methods that respect each vintage’s climate trend and length of aging varying according to the character of every single wine. This is the only way to make wines with personality.
