Château Barat is one of the Bordeaux wineries run by the famous wine family, the Lurtons. Between them the family owns 27 Bordeaux properties and tends over 1,300 acres.

Château Barat is on the outskirts of Bordeaux, in a small village called Camarsac. The vineyard is superbly situated. The estate has over time, housed The Black Prince, Duguesclin, Lord of Canteloup and the Marquis de Gères. In 1973,  Lucien Lurton purchased the estate and restored the vineyard and the cellar. His daughter, Bérénice Lurton took charge later in 1992 followed by her brother, Thierry Lurton in 2007.

Thierry Lurton is currently the head of Château Barat, and in the fourth generation of his family. He is known primarily for the Château Barat wines and Château de Camarsac.
